Government plans no pauses in European and Euro-Atlantic integration

The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine approved the Government Action Plan which provides for no pauses in the implementation of the reforms and processes of the European and Euro-Atlantic integration.

“There will be no pauses in the reforms. The European and Euro-Atlantic integration remains at the heart of our transformation. Our priorities are: implementation of the EU-Ukraine Association Agreement, sectoral integration, security sector reforms in line with NATO standards and principles,” Vice Prime Minister for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration of Ukraine Vadym Prystaiko announced, the Government portal informs.

The Vice Prime Minister also underscored the importance of maintaining strong engagement with the international community in countering the pandemic and its negative effects amid the challenges Ukraine faces.

“Ukraine needs an emergency response plan to overcome the COVID-19 pandemic, its economic and social impact. The program approved by the Government provides such a plan. We focus on urgent needs, but we do not remove our focus from strategic priorities, including sustainable development goals,” Prystaiko said.

The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine approved the Government Action Plan at its meeting on April 2. The main priorities of the Government's activity include the inalterability of Ukraine’s European and Euro-Atlantic integration and the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals. This will enable the implementation of the principles of economic, legal and social development envisaged in the EU-Ukraine Association Agreement, and the integration into NATO will strengthen Ukraine's defense capability.
