Consultations on creating TCG’s advisory board ongoing – Yermak

Consultations with international partners on the creation of a so-called advisory board at the political subgroup of the Trilateral Contact Group are ongoing.

Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine Andriy Yermak said this during an online briefing, which was broadcast on the Office’s Facebook page, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

“Indeed, the Coordination [Advisory] Board was considered in the format of a phone conversation between political advisers in the Normandy format. And the decision that was made in Minsk, the idea of creating such a board, will be further considered after consultations with our partners from France, Germany and the OSCE. These consultations are still ongoing," Yermak said.

At the same time, he assured that Ukraine had never negotiated and would not negotiate with the so-called D / LPR, terrorists, or separatists.

Yermak also noted that, in addition to consultations with international partners, consultations with the public and parliament were also needed to decide on the establishment of the board.

As reported, on March 11, a meeting of the Trilateral Contact Group (TCG) on the peaceful settlement of the situation in eastern Ukraine was held in Minsk. It was attended by Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine Andriy Yermak and Deputy Head of the Presidential Administration of the Russian Federation Dmitry Kozak. The parties agreed to establish the Advisory Board as part of the TCG political subgroup after consultations with representatives of the OSCE, the French Republic and the Federal Republic of Germany on the implementation of the agreements reached during the Normandy format summit.

According to Yermak, the parties took no steps that would create a legal basis for the recognition of ORDLO representatives.
