Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal has instructed newly appointed Minister of Economic Development, Trade and Agriculture Ihor Petrashko to develop several scenarios for potential effects of the COVID-19 on the Ukrainian economy.

"I have already instructed the Ministry of Economic Development to elaborate several scenarios of possible economic consequences in the current situation so that we can respond promptly. I’m giving a relevant instruction to the newly appointed minister," Shmyhal said at a government meeting on March 18.

The prime minister noted that the economic consequences of this situation would be serious, and there should be relevant measures.
