Kuleba: Ukraine needs strategies for de-occupying Crimea and Donbas

Ukraine needs strategies for de-occupying Crimea and Donbas, which may have different scenarios but the ultimate goal will be the restoration of Ukraine's territorial integrity.

"Ukraine needs two strategies: the first one for de-occupying Donbas and the second one for de-occupying Crimea," Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Dmytro Kuleba said on the air of 1+1TV channel, an Ukrinform correspondent reported.

There is another strategy that is fundamentally important for the success of the de-occupation strategies, namely the strategy of attracting investment and reviving the Ukrainian industry, he added.

In this context, Kuleba noted that a poor economy does not create a strong state, and it is very difficult for a weak state to be strong in the international arena.

"Therefore, the scenarios [of de-occupation] may be different but the ultimate goal is one and the same – the restoration of Ukraine's territorial integrity and the withdrawal of the occupying power from our territory. Everything else is negotiable," the minister said.

When asked about his attitude to the supply of water to the occupied Crimea, the Foreign Minister said that this issue should be considered as an instrument of the peninsula's de-occupation.
