Government appoints Ihor Degner as head of State Labor Service

The Cabinet of Ministers has appointed Ihor Degner as head of the State Labor Service, according to the press service of the Ministry for Development of Economy, Trade and Agriculture.

"The relevant decision was approved at a government meeting on Tuesday, March 3," reads the statement.

According to Deputy Minister for Economy Development Yulia Svyrydenko, among the main tasks of the State Labor Service is eliminating shadow labor market and protecting employees.

"As head of the service, Ihor Degner will enhance work with the business to legalize labor relations and increase the protection of employees, including in case of injury," said Svyrydenko.

According to the ministry, Degner has been working at the State Labor Service for more than 10 years. He worked his way up from a leading specialist to the labor department director. Degner holds the post of acting head of the service since December 2019.
