Honcharuk wants to block vote for his resignation

Kyiv's District Administrative Court has received an application for provisional remedy in which Ukrainian Prime Minister Oleksiy Honcharuk is the applicant, Verkhovna Rada Chairman Dmytro Razumkov is the defendant, and President Volodymyr Zelensky is the third party, the court's press service has reported.

According to the court, the plaintiff requests the court to ban the defendant, until a ruling on the merits is issued, from including in the agenda of a special parliament meeting on March 4, 2020, the question of the resignation of Prime Minister Oleksiy Honcharuk and/or the dismissal of any government member.

"Among other requirements in the application are to ban the chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine from putting to the vote by people's deputies of Ukraine or through the electronic system of the question of the resignation of Prime Minister of Ukraine Oleksiy Honcharuk and/or the dismissal of any member of the Cabinet of Ministers, as well as to announce the results of voting of people's deputies by means of the electronic system regarding the resignation of Oleksiy Honcharuk and/or the dismissal of any member of the Cabinet of Ministers," the court said.

The issue of whether there are legal grounds to take legal action is being resolved, the court said.

Earlier, Servant of the People MP Oleksandr Kachura wrote on his Telegram channel that Zelensky, at a meeting of the Servant of the Party faction, had proposed dismissing Honcharuk and appointing Denys Shmyhal as Ukraine's prime minister.

On February 28, Zelensky sent a letter to Razumkov demanding that a special parliament meeting be convened. Razumkov called the meeting for 16:00 on March 4.
