Chief of the Security Service of Ukraine Ivan Bakanov and Ambassador of Switzerland to Ukraine Claude Wild discussed possibilities for further security cooperation.

“For Ukraine, further support from the international community in the issues of strengthening sanctions against Russia over the illegal annexation of Crimea and military conflict in eastern Ukraine is extremely important,” Bakanov said at the meeting, the press service of the Security Service of Ukraine reports.

Special attention was paid to the adoption of the new Law “On Security Service of Ukraine" during the meeting. The parties mentioned that the adoption of the document is a key step in the reforming, but positive changes in the activities of the Service should not depend solely on the legislative nuances. "Not expecting the new law, we are changing the approaches to the activities of the Service right now: we elaborate new organizational structure of the Security Service of Ukraine, adopt the experience of foreign partners in professional personnel effective management," Ivan Bakanov said.

Ambassador Claude Wild said in response: "We hope for further cooperation between Switzerland and Ukraine in all relevant issues within our bilateral cooperation."

According to Mr. Ambassador, such cooperation will enable the Service to counteract the challenges of national and international security more effectively.
