Ukraine, Italy interested in intensifying inter-parliamentary dialogue - Foreign Ministry

Ukrainian Foreign Minister Vadym Prystaiko has met with President of the Italian Chamber of Deputies Roberto Fico to assure him of Ukraine's commitment to continue the political and diplomatic path to end the Donbas war and the importance of keeping in place the sanctions pressure on Russia.

The meeting took place as part of Prystaiko's visit to Italy on Monday, February 10, the press service of the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry reported.

"On February 10 this year, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Vadym Prystaiko had a meeting with President of the Chamber of Deputies of the Italian Parliament Roberto Fico during his visit to the Italian Republic. During the conversation, Prystaiko assured his interlocutor of the commitment to continue the political and diplomatic way of ending the war in Donbas and the importance of keeping in place the sanctions pressure on the Russian Federation," the report reads.

Fico, in turn, briefed Prystaiko on the creation of a Ukraine-Italy friendship group in the Italian parliament, which should further intensify inter-parliamentary cooperation between the two countries.

The report also notes that during his visit to Italy, Prystaiko met with representatives of the committee on foreign affairs of the Chamber of Deputies and the parliamentary friendship group.
