U.S. continues to impose sanctions on Russia until it ends Crimea occupation – State Department

The United States will continue its sanctions policy towards Russia until it ceases its occupation of Crimea and restores peace in Donbas, U.S. State Department Spokesperson Morgan Ortagus has stated.

"Today, we honored the lives of those who have perished as a result of Russian aggression in Ukraine. We will continue to impose sanctions on Russia until it commits to peace in the Donbas and ends its occupation of Crimea. Our support is with Ukraine," Ortagus wrote on her Twitter account on January 31.

As Ukrinform reported, on January 29, the United States imposed new sanctions on illegitimate Russian-backed Crimean officials and a railroad company linking Crimea to Russia.
