Canada extends sanctions against Russia over occupation of Crimea

Canada imposed sanctions on six Russians for organizing illegitimate elections in the occupied Crimea.

“The Special Economic Measures (Ukraine) Regulations impose asset freezes and dealings prohibitions on listed persons by prohibiting persons in Canada and Canadians outside of Canada from dealing in any property of these individuals or providing financial or related services to them,” reads the statement of the Global Affairs Canada.

Effective immediately, Canada imposed sanctions against Sergei Danilenko, the so-called Chairman of the Sevastopol Election Commission; Lidia Basova, the so-called Deputy Chairman of the Sevastopol Election Commission; Ekaterina Pyrkova, the so-called Secretary of the Sevastopol Election Commission; Vladimir Nemtsev, the so-called Chairman of the Legislative Assembly; Ekaterina Altabaeva, the so-called member of the Federation Council of the Russian Federation representing Sevastopol; Mikhail Razvozhaev, the so-called Acting Governor of Sevastopol.
