President of European Commission praises rapid pace of Ukrainian reforms - Honcharuk

President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen has praised the rapid pace of reforms in Ukraine.

Prime Minister of Ukraine Oleksiy Honcharuk wrote about this on his Facebook page.

“President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen has noted the rapid pace of reforms in Ukraine. In less than five first months of work, the government and parliament, in close cooperation, have adopted nearly 30 European integration laws. Each of them introduces European standards and norms in Ukraine to improve the quality of life of our citizens,” he wrote.

Honcharuk noted that the meeting of the EU-Ukraine Association Council should become the starting point for achieving the priority goals of the bilateral EU-Ukraine cooperation agenda.

In particular, this concerns: the preliminary expert mission’s visit with a view to launch the negotiations on the conclusion of the Agreement on Conformity Assessment and Acceptance of Industrial Products (АСАА); introduction of a mechanism for implementing the updated annex to the energy chapter of  the Association Agreement with the EU; Ukraine’s further integration into the EU's Digital Single Market; launching the process of a balanced revision of the parameters of a free trade area; advancing on Ukraine’s intention to engage within the European Green Deal process, in particular starting the development of a common roadmap.

Honcharuk also thanked the President of the European Commission for the solidarity of the European Union with Ukraine following the crash of a Ukrainian UIA plane near Tehran and unanimity over Iran's responsibility for the tragedy.
