U.S. Embassy on Unity Day calls on Russia to respect Ukraine’s sovereignty

On Unity Day, the United States Embassy in Ukraine has urged Russia to respect the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine within its internationally recognized borders.

"On Ukrainian Unity Day, we call on Russia to respect Ukraine’s sovereignty and territorial integrity within its internationally recognized borders, including Crimea and the Donbas, extending to its territorial waters," the embassy wrote on Twitter.

As Ukrinform reported, the EU Delegation to Ukraine also congratulated Ukrainians on the Day of Unity and recalled its support for the sovereignty, independence and territorial integrity of our state.

Ukraine marks the Day of Unity on January 22, the day when the Ukrainian People's Republic (UPR) and the Western Ukrainian People's Republic (WUPR) signed a Unification Act in 1919.
