Zelensky expresses condolences to Oman over death of Sultan Qaboos bin Said
President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky expressed his condolences to the people of Oman and the family of Sultan Qaboos bin Said Al Said over his death.
"Saddened to learn of the death of a modern visionary and extraordinary statesman, Sultan of Oman Qaboos bin Said Al Said. The epoch of the rise and prosperity of the state is his lasting legacy. Sincere condolences to the Sultan's family and the people of Oman," Zelensky wrote on Twitter.
As reported, President Volodymyr Zelensky recently visited Oman, where he arrived with his family, and met with H.E. Yusuf bin Alawi bin Abdullah, the Minister Responsible for Foreign Affairs of the Sultanate of Oman, and Executive President of the State General Reserve Fund (SGRF) of the Sultanate of Oman Abdulsalam Al Murshidi.
On January 8, Zelensky urgently returned from Oman to Kyiv due to the crash of a Ukrainian airplane near Tehran.
On January 10, Sultan Qaboos bin Said Al Said of Oman, the Arab world's longest-serving ruler, died aged 79.
Haitham bin Tariq al-Said was named as the new ruler, according to state-run Oman News Agency.
