Zelensky, Duda discuss gas transit and Normandy format talks

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky discussed in a phone conversation with President of Poland Andrzej Duda energy security in Europe and issuance of international road haulage permits by Poland.

“The interlocutors discussed the implementation of the agreements reached during the Normandy format negotiations in Paris on December 9,” the Office of the President of Ukraine reports.

The Head of State thanked Andrzej Duda for Poland's active position in support of Ukraine's territorial integrity and sovereignty. The President of Poland noted that his country would continue to advocate the continuation of sanction pressure on the Russian Federation until full implementation of the Minsk agreements and restoration of Ukraine's sovereignty.

The leaders paid special attention to energy security in Europe. Zelensky informed the interlocutor of the steps Ukraine is taking to conclude a new agreement on the transit of Russian gas.

During the conversation, the parties noted positive changes in issuance of international road haulage permits by Poland for this year.

The interlocutors touched upon the issues of cooperation within the framework of international and regional initiatives, discussed the priorities of European and Euro-Atlantic integration of Ukraine, and agreed on the schedule of bilateral activities for the next year.
