Government to allocate almost UAH 4 mln to liquidate aftermath of Odesa college fire

The Cabinet of Ministers at its today’s meeting will consider the issue of allocating almost UAH 4 million for the elimination of consequences of Odesa college fire, the Government’s portal reported.

“The Government will support the victims and their families. However, investigating the tragedy, identifying those guilty for the tragedy is a matter of highest priority,” Prime Minister of Ukraine Oleksiy Honcharuk stated.

Following the government’s approval, these funds will be directed to the State Emergency Service of Ukraine and the Odesa Regional State Administration from the reserve fund of the state budget.

As Ukrinform reported, on December 4, a fire broke out on the third floor of a six-storey building of Odesa College of Economics, Law and Hotel and Restaurant Business early on Wednesday, December 4.

Units of the State Emergency Service rescued and evacuated 40 people.

According to the latest data, 12 people were killed in the fire. Whereabouts of four people are still unknown; five bodies have not yet been identified.
