NSDC holds meeting on eve of Normandy format meeting

On Saturday, December 7, a meeting of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine under the chairmanship of President Volodymyr Zelensky is held on the eve of the Normandy format meeting.

"President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky convened a meeting of the National Security and Defense Council on the eve of the Normandy format meeting," the press service of the Head of State reports.

The meeting, which is attended by all NSDC members, is held at the President's Office behind closed doors.

The leaders of Normandy Four countries – Ukraine, Russia, France and Germany – will meet in Paris on December 9.

In addition, Zelensky confirmed bilateral meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Paris and stated that all leaders of the Normandy format would have bilateral meetings.

The last Normandy Four summit was held in Berlin on October 19, 2016. The participants acknowledged then that no breakthrough in Donbas conflict settlement had been achieved.
