Normandy Four summit to last three hours. Schedule revealed in Berlin

The meeting of the Normandy Four leaders will begin in Paris on December 9 at 16:00 local time (17:00 Kyiv time).

"The four-party working meeting is scheduled to begin at 16:00 [Paris time]. The joint conference is scheduled for 19:00," Deputy German Government Spokesperson Ulrike Demmer said at a briefing on Friday, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

As noted, German Chancellor Angela Merkel will hold bilateral meetings with President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky and Russian leader Vladimir Putin before the Normandy Four meeting.

“At 15:00 [Paris time], the Chancellor will hold a brief face-to-face meeting with President Putin. At 15:30 - with President Zelensky,” the Deputy German Government Spokesperson said.

According to her, Berlin hopes that the summit will result in "a new impetus in the peace process and coordination of new steps."

Since October 2016, when the previous summit was held, there has been no progress in the peace process. But in 2019, "new dynamics has emerged" and concrete steps have been taken, Demmer noted.
