Ukraine seeks to implement GUAM+Japan Cooperation Programme – Foreign Ministry

Foreign Minister of Ukraine Vadym Prystaiko had a meeting with Parliamentary Vice-Minister for Foreign Affairs of Japan Shinichi Nakatani on the sidelines of the OSCE Ministerial Council in Bratislava on December 5.

“GUAM+Japan cooperation issues were discussed during the meeting.  The parties expressed their strong intention for the implementation of the GUAM+Japan Cooperation Programme that provides a solid ground for developing new projects to enhance cooperation between GUAM and Japan in the areas of mutual interest, such as trade and investments, energy, emergency situations, tourism, transport, culture, agriculture, healthcare and environment,” reads the report released by the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry following the meeting.

The parties also reaffirmed the adherence to the universally recognized norms and principles of the international law, including those enshrined in the UN Charter, and noted the importance of international efforts aimed at settling conflicts in the GUAM area as soon as possible on a basis of respect to the sovereignty, territorial integrity and inviolability of internationally recognized borders of the States.
