Cabinet imposes sanctions against vandals, propagandists in Crimea

The Cabinet of Ministers has imposed sanctions against those who destroy cultural heritage sites in the Autonomous Republic of Crimea and Sevastopol, make television and radio broadcasts there, as well as supply materials for Russia's defense sector, according to Ukraine's government portal.

"The sanctions are imposed on legal entities providing illegal activities of the occupation administration of the Russian Federation and legal entities involved in carrying out illegal search works at archaeological heritage sites, the destruction of or damage to cultural heritage sites. These are 39 legal entities registered in the territory of the Russian Federation and 22 legal entities registered in the territory of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea and the city of Sevastopol under Russian law," the statement reads.

Legal entities that illegally broadcast on seized radio frequencies in the temporarily occupied territory of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea and Sevastopol are also subject to sanctions. These are 19 legal entities registered in the territory of the Russian Federation and 15 legal entities registered in the territory of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea and the city of Sevastopol under Russian law.

The sanctions also apply to legal entities involved in the supply of materials, equipment and services to the enterprises of the Russian defense sector that are illegally located in the temporarily occupied territory of Ukraine. These are 33 legal entities registered in the territory of the Russian Federation and three legal entities registered in the territory of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea and the city of Sevastopol under Russian law.

"The government believes that such actions by these legal entities contribute to legitimizing the illegal occupation and attempted annexation of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea and the city of Sevastopol by the Russian Federation, which creates real and potential threats to Ukraine's national security," the statement said.

The imposition of sanctions on legal entities will make it impossible for them to conduct economic activities in Ukraine. In addition, Ukraine's partners will also be able to initiate sanctions against designated entities in the European Union and the United States.
