Zelensky attends events marking Day of Dignity and Freedom

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and his wife, Olena Zelenska, have commemorated Heavenly Hundred Heroes on the occasion of the Day of Dignity and Freedom.

They put candles in front of a cross installed in the center of Kyiv in memory of those killed during the Revolution of Dignity, according to an Ukrinform correspondent.

Together with the head of state, the memory of the heroes was also honored by Prime Minister Oleksiy Honcharuk, First Deputy Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada Ruslan Stefanchuk, Chief of the Security Service of Ukraine Ivan Bakanov, and people's deputies.

Zelensky was shown a site where it is planned to build the National Museum of the Revolution of Dignity on the Alley of Heavenly Hundred Heroes.

Ukraine marks the Day of Dignity and Freedom every year on November 21, in accordance with a presidential decree of November 13, 2014. The holiday was established in honor of the commencement on this day of two significant and fateful events in contemporary Ukrainian history - the 2004 Orange Revolution and the 2013 Revolution of Dignity.
