U.S. Embassy comments on disengagement of forces in Petrivske

The U.S. Embassy in Ukraine has welcomed the completion of disengagement of forces and hardware in Petrivske.

"We welcome the completion of disengagement of forces and hardware at Petrivske. We urge Russia and the forces it backs to engage productively with Ukraine to make further progress toward reinstatement of Ukrainian control of its international border," the embassy wrote on Facebook.

As Ukrinform reported, the OSCE Chairperson-in-Office and Slovakia’s Minister of Foreign and European Affairs, Miroslav Lajcak, welcomed the completion of withdrawal of forces and hardware in the agreed disengagement area near Petrivske. “Following the positive steps in Stanytsia Luhanska and Zolote, the renewal of the disengagement from Petrivske brings us closer to a summit of the Normandy Format,” Lajcak said.

On November 13, the OSCE Special Monitoring Mission to Ukraine (SMM) reported it had received letters from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine and Russian-backed armed formations in Donbas that notified about the completion of withdrawal of forces and hardware in the agreed disengagement area near Petrivske.
