Ukraine and United Kingdom discuss new bilateral agreement

Foreign Minister of Ukraine Vadym Prystaiko and Ambassador of the United Kingdom to Ukraine Melinda Simmons held a meeting on November 12, the Foreign Ministry’s press service has reported.

“The ambassador briefed the minister about developments around the UK's exit from the EU minding the domestic political situation in the United Kingdom. During the meeting, the sides discussed the development of a new bilateral agreement, which after Brexit will replace the Association Agreement between Ukraine and the EU in relations with the United Kingdom,” reads the report.

"The UK will remain Ukraine's important partner in counteracting Russian aggression and will provide assistance to Ukraine in implementing reforms," the ambassador said.

The minister emphasized the importance of making progress on visa liberalization between the states.
