Ukraine plans to continue its cooperation with NATO in five strategic areas.
"Ukraine further plans to focus its cooperation with the Alliance on these five strategic areas," Vice Prime Minister of Ukraine for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration Dmytro Kuleba said at a joint briefing with NATO Assistant Secretary General Bettina Cadenbach, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.
According to him, the first area of cooperation is the defense and security sector reform. The official stressed that an emphasis would be made on strengthening the Ukrainian Navy, Special Operations Forces, logistics, cyber defense and military police.
The second direction is the development of democratic civilian control over the security and defense sector, and the third is the professional education and professional development of military and civilian personnel.
The Vice Prime Minister noted that the fourth area of cooperation with NATO would be the development of national resilience as a system of measures that allow the government agencies to effectively stop and counter modern challenges and threats, in particular the hybrid ones.
According to the official, the fifth direction is human security.
He also added that within the framework of the North Atlantic Council's visit to Ukraine, the Ukrainian leadership assured the Alliance partners that Ukraine's Euro-Atlantic aspirations were unchanged.
On October 30-31, the North Atlantic Council makes a visit to Ukraine. The visit began in Odesa. On Thursday, the NATO Secretary General and the ambassadors of NATO member states work in Kyiv.
