VR ratifies amendments to UK-Ukraine Double Taxation Convention

The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine adopted the law amending the Convention between the Government of Ukraine and the Government of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland for the avoidance of double taxation and the prevention of fiscal evasion.

A total of 323 MPs voted in favor of the draft law No.0006, according the Verkhovna Rada’s website.

“The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine has ratified the Protocol between the Government of Ukraine and the Government of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland amending the Convention between the Government of Ukraine and the Government of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland for the avoidance of double taxation and the prevention of fiscal evasion with respect to taxes on income and capital gains, which was signed in London on February 10, 1993, signed in London on October 9, 2017,” reads the report.

In particular, ratification of the Protocol will help improve norms of the UK-Ukraine Convention on the avoidance of double taxation and the prevention of tax evasion with respect to taxes on income and capital gains.
