Russia’s Federal Security Service charges Ukrainian Prykhodko with plotting terrorist attack in Crimea

The Federal Security Service of the Russian Federation has charged Ukrainian Oleh Prykhodko with plotting a terrorist attack and illegal manufacture of explosives in the occupied Crimea.

“Today [Monday, October 28] the investigative activities with political prisoner, Ukrainian citizen Oleh Prykhodko were carried out. A charge against him was brought, and an investigator made us aware of the decision to assign several examinations - outpatient psychiatric examination, biological, explosive and comprehensive linguistic examinations. Oleh Prykhodko is charged with plotting a terrorist attack under Part 1 Article 30 and Part 1 Article 205 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation, as well as the illegal manufacture of explosives under Part 1 Article 223-1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation,” Crimea. As reported, on October 10, the Kyivsky District Court in Simferopol arrested Oleh Prykhodko for two months, until December 10, 2019. He is charged with plotting an explosion at the Saky town administration.

Prykhodko denies his guilt and considers this case political persecution for his pro-Ukrainian stance.

The Prosecutor's Office of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea initiated criminal proceedings under Part 1 Article 146 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (unlawful imprisonment) over the arrest of a pro-Ukrainian activist in Crimea.
