Prystaiko invites Japanese foreign minister to visit Ukraine

Foreign Minister of Ukraine Vadym Prystaiko discussed with Foreign Minister of Japan Toshimitsu Motegi the prospects for cooperation between the countries and the situation in Donbas.

"During the meeting, the ministers reaffirmed the high level of partnership between the two countries, emphasizing the readiness of both sides to further enhance bilateral cooperation in political, economic, security, humanitarian and other spheres," reads the publication on the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry's Facebook page.

The ministers also discussed the security situation in Donbas and the initiatives of President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky to make progress in peaceful settlement.

In addition, Prystaiko thanked the Government of Japan for its consistent support for Ukraine's sovereignty and territorial integrity, reforms, as well as financial, expert and humanitarian assistance.

"The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine also invited Toshimitsu Motegi to make an official visit to Ukraine," the Foreign Ministry informs.

Toshimitsu Motegi reaffirmed the stance of official Tokyo on supporting Ukraine's sovereignty and territorial integrity.

The Foreign Minister of Japan also emphasized the readiness of the Government of Japan to continue to assist in restoring peace and stability in Ukraine, implementing reforms and infrastructure projects in Ukraine.
