Zelensky meets with prime minister of Japan

President Volodymyr Zelensky has held a meeting with Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe in Tokyo today, the Office of the President of Ukraine has reported on its Twitter account.

"We are grateful for Japan's consistent policy of supporting Ukraine and not recognizing the illegal occupation of Crimea, keeping sanctions against Russia," Zelensky said at the meeting with the Japanese prime minister.

The Ukrainian president also told about the security situation in Donbas and recent developments aimed at achieving peace.

The parties also discussed Japan's investment in the Ukrainian infrastructure. Zelensky thanked for financial assistance provided to Ukraine, which reached $1.8 billion since 2014.

In turn, Shinzo Abe praised the results of reforms carried out in Ukraine and assured that Japan would continue to support the country in introducing positive change.

Zelensky invited the Japanese prime minister to visit Ukraine.

As reported, President Volodymyr Zelensky arrived in Japan on an official visit on Monday to attend the ceremony of enthronement of the Japanese emperor.
