Foreign minister Prystaiko: Next prisoner swap enters key phase

Foreign Minister of Ukraine Vadym Prystaiko says that preparations for the next prisoner swap between Ukraine and Russia enter key phase.

"In these processes, every spoken word may play a dramatic role. And I'm just trying not to talk about a date or the number of prisoners. I try to give no data. Any ill-considered word may affect the fate of a person who is behind bars now. That is why I want to say that this process enters a key phase. But I cannot tell you the number of people or the date,” Prystaiko said in an interview with the Radio Liberty.

He stressed that the exchange would be much more difficult than the previous ones.

"It consists of several groups of people... Let's just say, three groups of people we want to exchange," the minister said.

On September 7, the prisoner swap took place between Ukraine and Russia, as a result of which eleven Ukrainian political prisoners and 24 captured Ukrainian sailors returned home.
