Ukraine, Lithuania to further develop strategic partnership

Foreign Ministers of Ukraine and Lithuania Vadym Prystaiko and Linas Linkevicius have confirmed their joint commitment to further develop a strategic partnership between the two countries

The Foreign Ministry’s press service reported this following a meeting of the ministers on the sidelines of the 74th session of the UN General Assembly.

"The Foreign Ministers also agreed to further coordinate actions to support the efforts of the Ukrainian side to de-occupy their territories and to end violations of human rights in temporarily occupied territories and to release illegally detained Ukrainian citizens," reads the statement.

Also, Prystaiko thanked Lithuania for the treatment of Ukrainian servicemen and for its participation in the reconstruction of infrastructure in Donetsk and Luhansk regions, damaged by the armed aggression of the Russian Federation.

The Ukrainian side also praised Vilnius readiness to host the 2020 Ukraine Reform Conference.
