Prystaiko and Maas discuss preparations for Normandy summit
The foreign ministers of Ukraine and Germany, Vadym Prystaiko and Heiko Maas, held a telephone conversation on September 20.
This was the second conversation in the last two days, Ukraine's Ambassador to Germany Andriy Melnyk informed on Twitter.
The main topic of the conversation was the preparation for the meeting in the Normandy format at the highest level.
“Active phone diplomacy at our office. With Heiko Maas we discussed, first of all, preparations for the Normandy Summit. We need this checkpoint for further progress for our people in Russian jails and in the occupied territories,” Prystaiko wrote on his Twitter account.
Earlier, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said that a specific date for a meeting of the leaders of the countries of the Normandy format had not been agreed yet, but Ukraine insisted that such a summit should be held in September.
