Kuchma: TCG at next meeting in Minsk can agree on disengagement of troops in Petrivske and Zolote

The Trilateral Contact Group (TCG) at the next meeting in Minsk can agree on the final date for the disengagement of troops in Petrivske and Zolote.

Ukraine's representative in the TCG Leonid Kuchma said this to reporters on the sidelines of the 16th Yalta European Strategy (YES) Annual Meeting in Kyiv on Friday, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

"Security is always the main issue for us, as well as an exchange of hostages [at the meetings of the TCG]. The security issue means to move further on the disengagement of troops along the contact line. I believe that next Wednesday we will decide on the disengagement of forces in Petrivske and Zolote. We will finally decide on the date," Kuchma said.

"I am sure that the president will raise the issue on the withdrawal of troops along the entire contact line at the Normandy meeting" Kuchma noted.

As reported, the next meeting of the Trilateral Contact Group (TCG) on the peaceful settlement of the situation will be held on September 18.
