Zelensky vetoes law on responsibility for violations in military procurement

President Volodymyr Zelensky has vetoed the law on amendments to the Criminal and Criminal Procedure Codes, which was adopted in 2016 to establish responsibility for violations of legislation in the filed of military procurement.

The relevant report has been posted on the parliament’s website.

In particular, law No.1793 was "returned with president’s proposals ".

At the same time, the text of the president's proposals has not yet been made public.

The law was approved by the Verkhovna Rada in 2015. However, it was then returned to Parliament with president’s proposals.

The Verkhovna Rada approved the law again with president’s proposals in 2016. The Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada signed the law on June 7, 2019.

The law amends the Criminal Code of Ukraine with an article establishing criminal responsibility for violations of legislation in the field of confirmation of compliance, manufacture, production, sale, purchase of products, works and services in the military sphere.
