U.S. senator, who was denied visa to Russia, will visit Ukraine this week

Democratic U.S. Senator Chris Murphy, whom Russia refused to grant a visa for a visit to Moscow, said that he would visit Ukraine later this week to demonstrate support for the new Ukrainian government.

"Russia wouldn’t let us in, but Ron Johnson and I will be visiting Ukraine, Serbia, and Kosovo this week to demonstrate bipartisan support for the new Ukrainian government and continued dialogue between Belgrade and Pristina," the senator wrote on Twitter.

As reported, on August 28, Democratic Senator Chris Murphy and Republican Senator Ron Johnson said that Russia had refused to grant them visas for a visit to Moscow next week, amid disagreement within Washington and among U.S. allies over whether the country should be readmitted to the Group of Seven.
