President in Warsaw takes part in events dedicated to 80th anniversary of outbreak of World War II

On Sunday, September 1, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky in Warsaw took part in the memorial events on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the outbreak of World War II, the president’s press service has reported.

The head of state, along with other participants of the memorial events, joined the wreath-laying ceremony near the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier.

The attendees honored the memory of those killed in World War II with a moment of silence.

According to the Polish side, about 40 foreign delegations participated in the events. In particular, U.S. Vice President Mike Pence and German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier arrived in Warsaw.

Presidents, heads of government and delegations left a note in the Book of Remembrance and struck the Memory Bell.
