Zelensky, Macron discuss results of G7 summit, security situation in Donbas

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky and President of France Emmanuel Macron held a telephone conversation and discussed the results of the G7 summit and the security situation in Donbas.

"The results of the G7 summit held on August 24-26 in Biarritz, France, were discussed. The Head of State welcomed the stance of the summit participants on the impossibility of Russia’s return to this international platform in the context of the war in Donbas and Russian occupation of Crimea. The President of Ukraine expressed concern over the recent discussion between the French and US presidents about their intention to invite Russia to the next G7 summit in the United States in 2020," the press service of the Head of State reports.

The Ukrainian leader also informed his French counterpart about the security situation in Donbas.

In turn, Emmanuel Macron confirmed his intention to hold a meeting in the Normandy format in the near future.
