Groysman calls on future government to complete decentralization reform

Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman calls on the future government to continue implementing decentralization reform and to support small towns and communities.

“Today, there are many supporters of decentralization and those who are united with decentralization, and I am happy about that. However, it is important not to stop, it is important to complete the reform,” the Prime Minister said at the Cabinet’s meeting, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

At the same time, he highlighted the importance of passing legislative changes, including the adoption of constitutional amendments to ensure the rights of local self-government.

Groysman expressed his conviction that the new government should focus on supporting small towns and small communities in the next five years. In particular, he said, it is necessary to amend the law on local elections, approved in 2015.
