Austrian ambassador completes diplomatic mission in Ukraine

Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Austria Hermine Poppeller completes her four-year mission in Ukraine in late August, the Austrian Embassy in Ukraine has reported.

“I am grateful to Ukraine for these four years. I’m glad that we managed to strengthen and develop close bilateral relations between Kyiv and Vienna,” the ambassador said.

Among the key achievements of her term of office, Poppeller called, in particular, active cooperation with Austrian business in Ukraine, work during the Austrian Chairmanship of the OSCE in 2017, Vienna’s participation in the activities of the OSCE Special Monitoring Mission to Ukraine, as well as an agreement on cultural cooperation between Austria and Ukraine.

She will soon represent the Republic of Austria in Greece.

The ambassador also announced the arrival soon in Ukraine of her successor, Ambassador Gernot Pfandler, who previously headed the Austrian Embassy in Kosovo.
