Zelensky congratulates Johnson on election victory

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has held a telephone conversation with UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson, the presidential press service has reported.

"The head of state congratulated Boris Johnson on a convincing victory at the recent elections of the leader of the British Conservative Party. He thanked the British government for its continued position in support of Ukraine's territorial integrity and sovereignty, as well as for helping our country implement reforms and strengthen its defense capabilities," the report reads.

It also notes that the parties discussed the further development of Ukrainian-British relations, in particular after the UK's withdrawal from the EU. They also stressed the need to intensify contacts at the highest level.
