Czaputowicz: Normandy format doesn’t have desired effect

The Normandy format of talks on the settlement of the situation in Donbas does not have the desired effect and needs to be expanded, possibly by involving the United States and the United Kingdom.

"We need to think about an institution that would deal with the settlement of this conflict. In our view, the Normandy format does not have the desired effect. Russia does not comply with the Minsk agreements. Perhaps, we should think about the proposal of the President of Ukraine and to expand the Normandy format by involving the United States and the United Kingdom," Polish Foreign Minister Jacek Czaputowicz told journalists in Warsaw, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

He expressed the opinion that this could be a good way out amid the Normandy format’s inefficiency and the lack of prospects.
