Presidential representative: Water won’t be supplied to occupied Crimea

Anton Korinevych, the Permanent Representative of the President of Ukraine in the Autonomous Republic of Crimea, has stated that the refusal to supply water to the occupied Crimea is a right stance and it will not change in the near future.

"The stance on non-delivery of water via the North Crimean Canal to Crimea is correct. Ukraine should use the available mechanisms to put pressure on the occupying power. This question is certainly important for the occupying power as it actually concerns the economic activity on the territory of Crimea. But I don’t think there will any changes in this approach in the near future. We cannot speak about the water supply. In the situation that we have, we cannot speak about the water supply via the North Crimean Canal to Crimea. I consider this stance to be unequivocal," Korinevych said in an interview with the Segodnya Ukrainian daily.

The Office of President Volodymyr Zelensky has a similar stance on the supply of electricity from mainland Ukraine to the occupied Crimea, he stressed.
