Parubiy names approximate date of first meeting of new parliament

Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Andriy Parubiy predicts that the first meeting of the newly elected Parliament will be held in late August - early September.

He said this to journalists after voting in Ukraine's snap parliamentary elections at a polling station in Kyiv, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

"The working group may decide to hold the first meeting at the end of August - the beginning of September. The Verkhovna Rada is ready for active and efficient work. I will immediately arrange all the necessary preparatory work so that the first meeting takes place as soon as possible,” he said.

Parubiy assured that he would convene the first working group to prepare a meeting of the newly elected Parliament immediately after the official announcement of the results of the snap parliamentary elections.

On July 21, the snap parliamentary elections are held in Ukraine.
