Canada demands all those responsible for MH17 crash be held to account

Canada supports the Joint Investigation Team (JIT) and demands that all organizers and perpetrators of the MH17 crash be held to account, Global Affairs Canada has reported.

“Five years ago, Malaysian Airlines flight MH17 was shot down in a horrific attack which took the lives of 298 people, including 1 Canadian. Today we remember the victims and reiterate our support for the Joint Investigation Team. Those responsible must be held to account,” says the report on Twitter.

As reported, Malaysia Airlines flight MH17, which was en route from Amsterdam to Kuala Lumpur, was shot down over Donbas in July 2014. There were 283 passengers and 15 crewmembers onboard the plane. All of them died.

The Netherlands named four individuals – three Russians and one Ukrainian - involved in the downing of flight MH17. The Joint Investigation Team also announced that the trial would start on March 9, 2020.
