Prystaiko: President to visit Warsaw in September

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky will pay an official visit to the Polish capital of Warsaw at the invitation of the Polish side in September.

Deputy Head of the Presidential Office Vadym Prystaiko stated this at a briefing on Tuesday, July 16, an Ukrinform correspondent reported.

"We are really planning a visit [of President Volodymyr Zelensky] to Poland on September 1, at the invitation of President [Andrzej] Duda. Officially, the Ukrainian side has confirmed its participation. Many leaders will gather there, and I think that the U.S. president will definitely come, considering the subject of this meeting in Warsaw,” said Prystaiko.

Commenting on controversial historical issues between Ukraine and Poland, the deputy head of the Presidential Office said that "we are not only ready, we must live in peace and happiness" with the Polish side.

“These are our neighbors, our closest brothers and, in fact, you know that we differ from them only by Latin and Catholicism against Orthodoxy. We are aware of our difficult history and we must take the necessary steps to find the opportunity to live together. We have one common enemy. We need to live together in friendship and peace,” Prystaiko said.
