Parliament fails to dismiss Pavlo Klimkin for second time

The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine has rejected the draft resolution submitted by President Volodymyr Zelensky on the dismissal of Foreign Minister Pavlo Klimkin.

At a parliament meeting on Thursday, 160 MPs voted for the resolution with the minimum required 226 votes, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

As Ukrinform reported, on June 6, the Verkhovna Rada did not adopt a resolution on the dismissal of Foreign Minister Pavlo Klimkin.

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky called on the Verkhovna Rada to immediately consider a motion on the dismissal of Foreign Minister Pavlo Klimkin and the appointment of Vadym Prystaiko to replace him. The president filed the relevant motions for parliament´s consideration on June 11.
