President to announce decision on law envisaging impeachment procedure soon – Stefanchuk

President Volodymyr Zelensky will soon announce his decision regarding the law on temporary investigation commissions and temporary special commissions of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, which provides for the procedure for the president's impeachment.

President’s representatives in the Verkhovna Rada Ruslan Stefanchuk stated this at a meeting of the Agenda-Setting Council on Monday, an Ukrinform correspondent reported.

"Undoubtedly, the president understands the complexity and importance of this law, adopted by the Verkhovna Rada, and needs some time to study it. I think the decision will be made public soon,” Stefanchuk said.

As Ukrinform reported, the Verkhovna Rada on June 6 adopted Law No. 1098 "On Temporary Investigation Commissions, a Special Temporary Investigation Commission and Temporary Special Commissions of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine,” which provides for the procedure for the president's impeachment. On June 12, the law was signed by speaker Andriy Parubiy.
