President appoints National Guard commander

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has appointed Mykola Balan as commander of the National Guard of Ukraine.

The relevant decree was posted on the website of the head of state on Friday.

“To appoint Mykola Balan as commander of the National Guard of Ukraine,” reads the decree.

This document was preceded by the decrees on relieving Balan of his duties as commander of the National Guard and dismissing him from the post of deputy commander of the National Guard.

In addition, Volodymyr Kondratiuk was appointed first deputy commander of the National Guard of Ukraine. Ruslan Dziuba and Yuriy Lebed were appointed deputy commanders of the National Guard of Ukraine.
