Grybauskaite calls for continued support of Ukraine in her last address

Lithuania must continue to provide unconditional support to Ukrainians amid Russian aggression, Lithuanian President Dalia Grybauskaite has said.

She said this in her address to the nation as head of state, which was published on Tuesday, according to an Ukrinform correspondent.

"The unconditional support for the people of Ukraine and the unconditional condemnation of aggression – be it Crimea, the Kerch [Strait] or the use of chemicals in the UK - must remain our strategic position," Grybauskaite said.

She noted that immature political decisions regarding cooperation with hostile countries could create smoldering threats and turn Europeans into hostages when it will be necessary to choose between bad and dangerous.

"New challenges to security, world order, human rights, climate, and trade must reload the activities of international institutions," the Lithuanian leader said.
