Zelensky plans to replace all regional governors

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky insists on the replacement of all heads of regional state administrations, and the selection of candidates for these posts is currently underway.

Presidential press secretary Iuliia Mendel said this at a briefing on Monday, June 10, according to an Ukrinform correspondent.

"We have heard today that 13 governors could be dismissed. In reality, the president of Ukraine insists that all governors should be dismissed," she said.

According to Mendel, the process of finding specialists who can head regional state administrations is now underway.

"All the well-known criteria for our selection process are integrity, professionalism, and the absence of links to any corruption schemes," Mendel said.

She also added that international recruiting companies were helping select candidates for the posts of regional governors.

The Cabinet of Ministers on June 5 proposed that President Volodymyr Zelensky dismiss a number of regional governors. Later it emerged in the media that it was proposed to dismiss 13 heads of regional state administrations.
