Meeting of Trilateral Contact Group begins in Minsk

A meeting of the Trilateral Contact Group (TCG) on the peaceful settlement of the situation in eastern Ukraine has begun in Minsk, Belarus.

Darka Olifer, the spokesperson for Ukraine's representative in the TCG Leonid Kuchma, wrote this on her Facebook page.

"A meeting of the Trilateral Contact Group has started in Minsk," she wrote.

As Ukrinform reported, the Ukrainian delegation in the Trilateral Contact Group was updated. In particular, on June 3, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky said that the second president of Ukraine, Leonid Kuchma, would again represent Ukraine in the Trilateral Contact Group in Minsk. Former Ukrainian Parliament Commissioner for Human Rights Valeria Lutkovska was appointed as Ukraine’s representative in the humanitarian subgroup of the TCG instead of Iryna Gerashchenko.

At the meeting on June 5, the Ukrainian side plans to discuss the release of hostages and security issues.
