Tymoshenko says Batkivshchyna will independently participate in early parliamentary elections

The Batkivshchyna All-Ukrainian Association will independently participate in early parliamentary elections and is ready to nominate its candidate for Ukraine's prime minister, party leader Yulia Tymoshenko has reported on Facebook.

"Batkivshchyna will participate in parliamentary elections independently. We are a large, self-sufficient team that can show people a good result of change. [...] I ask people to understand that early elections that will take place on July 21 are not just parliamentary elections, but also the election of Ukraine's prime minister. Every party that stands for the Verkhovna Rada is headed by a leader who, if it gets a victory and joins the coalition, may head the Cabinet of Ministers," she said.

According to Tymoshenko, her party is ready to cooperate with those political parties and blocs that support "our new course," a radical change in the economic strategy of the state, and reduction in tariffs.

She said that the first steps of the new prime minister should be a reduction in tariffs and an increase in salaries and pensions.

Early elections to the Verkhovna Rada are due to take place on July 21, 2019, in accordance with a decree signed by President Volodymyr Zelensky.
